are we done yet?

Granite was added to our driveway. No more big, muddy potholes.

Are we done yet? Well, no... but the end is near and it's starting to look and feel more and more like home in here. But just when we have these thoughts, reality sets in and we still have a LONG list of to-do's before we can move in. Here's what's been accomplished the past couple days:

Out with the old windows, in with the new. The windows we ordered mimicked the style of the original windows, we want to keep as much old character in this house, BUT the wrong style was ordered. So, the big debate we're having is which ones to go with now? We like them both... what do you think?

Friends came over with their tractor-pulled rotor tiller to help us till up our gigantic garden. We are SO thankful for this as it would take a LONG time doing it by hand. They also gave us a couple of their blueberry bushed to start our berry patch! Thanks Rob & Dianne!

While we're still waiting to move in, our chickens have made the move. Their coop is ready now they better start laying for us soon!

Inside most of our cabinets have been installed. This is so exciting and I love how they turned out! We have a big pantry area, lots of storage space, some open shelving, and a eat in area planned!

Floors are finally finished! Upstairs got sealed. I have a new appreciation for those of you who choose to finish your own hardwood floors... prefinished is so much easier!

 

Doors were hung. We chose 3 panel mission style maple doors.

 

Beams and stairs were sanded and stairs are just about complete with sealer. We chose to keep the original "rough" stairs. They add a bit of character, are super sturdy, and when they're cleaned-up and sealed the wood grain really pops. Plus, they don't cost us anything :)
